Everybody loves a good book especially when they have a lot of time to burn. A good book enables the person to think differently from the usual lot of people. But then there is this one moment which is just so aggravating. I am talking about the moment when you have read everything you have and now you are left with this one question in your mind-“What should I read next?” This question has been has been in the mind of every single bookworm. It feels as if you have lost interest in the world around you or your brain may starve to death if it doesn’t get any books to devour. Well, if you are facing the same question, you have come to the right place. I have got some really great authors for every bookworm who loves fantasy fiction.
So, here we go:
1. Matthew Reilly:
Matthew John Reilly is an Australian action thriller writer. His novels are famous for their fast pace, twisting plots and intense action. The first book was Contest followed by Ice Station. Adjusting to a new author might be tough for a few people so I suggest you read Hell Island which is a mere 120 page action thriller. The way Reilly narrates the story is spectacular that makes your blood pump and heart race while reading the intense scenes in the book. Matthew Reilly is one of the best author in the action thriller genre and his books will leave you flabbergasted.
2. Eoin Colfer:
Eoin Colfer is an Irish author He worked as a primary school teacher before he became a full-time writer. Eoin Colfer is most recognized for the Artemis Fowl series. A teenage genius, Artemis captures Holly Short, who is a Fairy and a captain of the LEPrecon, in the first book and holds her for ransom to exploit the magical Fairy People and restore his family's fortune. In the sequel, Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident, he allies with the Fairies to rescue his father from the Russian Mafia. The series introduces Artemis as an anti-hero and the fairies' enemy, but as the series progresses, he assists the Fairies in resolving conflicts with worldwide ramifications, with Artemis's character developing and changing throughout the chronology.
3. Angie Sage:
Angie Sage is the author of the Septimus Heap series which includes Magyk, Flyte, Physik, Queste, Syren, Darke and Fyre. The series follows the adventures of Septimus Heap who, is the seventh son of the seventh son and has extraordinary magical powers. After he becomes an apprentice to the arch wizard of the series, Marcia Overstrand, he must study for seven years and a day until his apprenticeship ends. I like their chaotic acceptance of life, and the fact that they don't do what they are told by authority if they think it is wrong. Stuff happens to them that makes their life difficult at times but they don't whine about things, they just move on and sort them out in the best possible way. They are also a family which is separated by circumstances and the book lays emphasis on the fact that families can still be close to each other and care for each other even though they live apart. The relationship between the family develops as the books progresses.
4. Anthony Horowitz:
Anthony Horowitz, is an English novelist and screenwriter who specializes in mystery and suspense. His work for young adult readers includes The Diamond Brothers series, the Alex Rider series, and The Power of Five series (a.k.a. The Gatekeepers). “Alex Rider” is a series of novels revolving around a 14–15 year old spy named Alex Rider. The series is aimed primarily at young adults. The series comprises of eleven novels, as well as five graphic novels, three short stories and a supplementary book. The way he has written this series is very innovative. The character can be picturized as a teenage James Bond with his gadgets and super cool ways of outwitting the antagonists. The second famous series is “The Power of Five” is based on a mystical journey, both intense and quick paced.
5. Raquel J. Palacio:
R. J. Palacio is a graphic designer by day and a writer by night. She lives in New York City with her husband, their two sons, and a black dog named Bear. Wonder was her first novel. Wonder is a beautifully written book which talks about a boy named August Pullman who has a disfigured face and his first steps into the society when he joins a school. This book is both emotional as well as interesting and this makes it enjoyable.
